Traci Blido
Traci
Blido is the Communications Officer for Virginia's Region 2000
Partnership, an interwoven network of organizations with a centralized
vision to provide regional development and a high quality of life for
the citizens that reside within the 2,000 square miles that surround
Lynchburg, Virginia.
Traci is responsible for communications and marketing
activities at the Partnership. She joined the organization in April
2007. Prior to that, she worked in the telecommunications industry for
Ericsson as Director of Internal Communications, North America.
Traci holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism/Public
Relations from Liberty University and lives in Virginia with her husband
and two children. She currently serves as President-elect for IABC/Lynchburg,
a newly developed chapter.
Sally Ruth Bourrie
Sally Ruth
Bourrie is the editor of Arts & Sciences quarterly magazine
(100,000 alumni, faculty and student subscribers) and the monthly
e-newsletter A&S Online (60,000 subscribers) at the University of
Virginia’s College of Arts & Sciences. These publications are tools to
build engagement among the U.Va. community and ultimately serve the
College’s Development Office in raising funds for the College.
Previously, Sally
served as editor of internal communications for the U.Va. Health System,
writer/editor in internal communications at the U.S. Postal Service
(Washington, D.C.) and handled both internal and external communications
as manager of national print media for Volunteers of America
(Alexandria, Va.). A journalist for many years, her reporting has
appeared in most major newspapers, including The New York Times,
The Boston Globe and the Chicago Tribune as well as
magazines such as Garden Design and on Web sites including
Newsweek.com.
Sally is passionate
about communications and leadership, and is eager to learn from the
experts at the IABC International Conference. Above all, she looks
forward to sharing what she’s learned with other IABC Heritage Region
members.
Cassidy Hunter
Cassidy Hunter is communications and web content manager for the
Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association (ICVA), as well as a
freelance copywriter and editor. Cassidy’s responsibilities at the ICVA
include: managing editor of This is Indianapolis, ICVA’s semi-annual
visitor guide; directing communication efforts to external consumer
audiences; ensuring the accuracy of all media materials, web content
across all audience segments and board-level communication pieces; and
manages electronic communication strategies to organizational partners
and stakeholders.
Cassidy began her career at the ICVA in 2001, joining the team as
communications coordinator. Cassidy has been promoted twice, most
recently in 2005 to her current position of communications and web
content manager.
Prior to joining the ICVA, Cassidy worked in marketing communications,
and subsequently in online advertising, at the Indianapolis Star, the
state’s largest daily newspaper. Previously, Cassidy was an associate at
a local event planning firm, where she successfully coordinated and
executed several significant events.
Cassidy is an active member of the Indianapolis chapter of International
Association of Business Communicators and has held two different
positions on the local chapter’s board of directors: VP of
Communications and VP of Awards/Recognition.
Cassidy is also a community volunteer, coordinating employee giving for
the Central Indiana United Way’s annual campaign and Day of Caring
program. Personally, Hunter volunteers her time for the benefit of the
March of Dimes.
Cassidy is a 1998 graduate of Ball State University and holds a
bachelor’s of arts degree in telecommunication/news, with a minor in
journalism/public relations.
Cassidy is a lifelong Indianapolis resident. She has been married for
nearly five years to Adam and they have an two-year-old son, Caleb. In
her spare time, Cassidy enjoys spending time with family and friends,
traveling, camping, hiking, boating and going to music concerts.
