What Happens if Your Executives Really DO Care About Communication?

In today’s business environment, communicators have to move past engagement to true advocacy for a company’s strategies and products. Keeping morale up in itself is a challenge, but growing morale is a true accomplishment.  This session will focus on Ford’s full circle approach to employee communication, from survey to tool implementation and back to survey.  Through sharing tactics, the speaker will explain how Ford has been able to move the needle on how employees perceive both its executives and products through mass media, advocacy programs, face-to-face communication tool development, and combining traditional techniques with new social media approaches.

About Sara

Sara Tatchio is global manager of employee communications and an operation titled the “Content Factory” at Ford Motor Company.  She has spent 20 years in Ford Public Affairs working the gamut of product, environmental, safety, technology, executive and marketing communications after starting in employee communications.  Prior to Ford, Tatchio was a television news producer. Back in the last century(!), Fast Company Magazine described her in her work at Ford as a fast-moving, fast-talking bulldog of an editor – but she's matured since then and now relies on a combination of directness and diplomacy to make her way through the corporate world.
