The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is the world’s only Museum devoted to collecting, preserving and celebrating the art form known as rock and roll. Rock and roll changed our lives, both in the socio-political realm, as well as on a personal level. Each year the Rock Hall tells this story to hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world who make the pilgrimage to the Museum. Beyond those coming through its doors, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reaches thousands of students through its distance learning programs, which are broadcast across the globe. Terry Stewart, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will discuss the evolution of rock and roll, how the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was created and the long-term vision of the Museum to tell share its mission with students and music fans around the world.
About Terry
Terry Stewart has been the President and
CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for nearly a
decade. Stewart was born and raised in Daphne, Alabama, just outside
Mobile. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a
Bachelor of Arts in Education from Rutgers University in New Jersey
in 1969. Then in 1972 and 1974, he earned an MBA in Finance and a
JD in Law at Cornell University.

Stewart's career took a pretty traditional business route - banking, finance and engineering until 1989, when he joined Marvel Entertainment Group. Marvel is best known for its comic book characters including Spiderman, the X-Men, the Incredible Hulk, Blade, Silver Surfer and an additional 3,000 super heroes. In 1991, Marvel went public and Stewart was honored as CNBC Marketing Executive of the Year.
Stewart continues to be active nationally in civic and philanthropic endeavors, serving on the boards of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation in Philadelphia and the City Parks Foundation in New York City. Locally, he serves on the Boards for the Cleveland Film Commission, Positively Cleveland: the Cleveland Convention & Visitors Bureau, and The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio. Stewart has also been active with the U.S. Committee for UNICEF and the National Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
Terry is an avid collector of pop culture memorabilia, including a world-class record collection, concert and movie posters, autographs and jukeboxes.
