Julie Freeman, ABC, APR
Preparing Messages for Information Overload Environments
Research shows that visualization methods such as diagrams, time lines and charts are helpfultechniques to reduce the amount of information people receive. However, according to an IABC Research Foundation survey, these methods are not often used for internal communication. Even when communicators are familiar with the use of visuals, few actually employ them. This session will outline six simple principles every communicator can use to reduce information overload in business communication and monitor how messages are received, understood and remembered. The discussion is based on the IABC Research Foundation’s newest report.
