Staying The Course While Running on Empty

The weakening of the economy is restricting the growth of resources at a time when communications couldn’t be more important. How do communicators continue to add value while increasing the credibility of communications? Trading off the old adage of planning the work and working the plan, Mark Crowley will share lessons learned over a 28-year career in marketing communications that includes his current position at Sherwin-Williams. In this keynote session, Mark will help communicators answer the following questions that are essential in navigating today’s volatile business environment:

  • What is the strategic purpose of your company’s communications?

  • How do you find out?

  • What’s the basic framework for thinking about your planning efforts and how do you go about developing your key messages?

  • What are real-life applications of buzzwords such as emotional connection, authenticity and collaboration, and how can they help you stay the course?
