About Heritage Region
The IABC Heritage Region takes its name from its historical ties with IABC and from the common story of the United State’s history that winds throughout our geographic area. In June 1970, two communication organizations, including a group that was headquartered within our region’s area, met in Pittsburgh, Pa., to form IABC. Members of the Heritage Region live and work in states that played prominent roles in the events leading to the formation and preservation of our country.

We support the IABC mission by: (1) serving Region members, primarily through providing guidance, support, and development opportunities for Chapter leaders; (2) fostering Region growth; and (3) serving as a communication conduit between Members, Chapters and the IABC Executive Board.

The geographic area served by Heritage Region includes the following 18 U.S. states: Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, DC and West Virginia.
