Silver Quill Awards (presentations by Mark Twain)

The conference’s kick-off event will be hosted by Mark Twain, writer, humorist, satirist, lecturer and friend to presidents, artists, industrialists and European royalty. Mr. Twain will oversee the presentation of Silver Quill Awards.

Peter Prichard, president of the “Newseum” and former editor of USA Today, will tell the story of the development of the interactive museum of news in Washington, D.C., with particular emphasis on innovative presentation techniques and customer services practices that are applicable to many businesses. In “The Stories of Our Lives: How the Newseum Became a Hit”, Mr. Prichard will also make observations about the national and international media scene and the challenges journalists face in a rapidly changing environment.
