Forrest Hughes, ABC
Chapter Liaison
Forrest Hughes is a self-employed
communications freelancer who focuses mainly on writing. A professional
communicator since 1977, she is the former Director of Publications,
University of Richmond, Richmond, Va. and editor of a statewide newspaper
for disabled, editor/proofreader for law firm.
A member of IABC/Richmond since 1983, Forrest has extensive volunteer
experience at all levels. She was the IABC/Richmond President in 1992 and
also served as vp-programs, vp-membership, secretary, treasurer, awards
program chair, various committees. She was the District III director from
1999-2000 and also served as deputy director, immediate past director and
membership chair. During this time, she was a member of the IABC
International Board. Most recently, Forrest has been the new chapter
development chair for the IABC Heritage Region since 2005.
Forrest is also an active community volunteer with schools, Boy Scouts,
non-profits.
